This October, BRASIL 2018 is coming to South London, featuring live Brazilian music, dancing and DJs at one of Brixton’s top nightclubs. Boasting a capacity of 1,500 people, the Prince of Wales will host samba music from Rhythms of the City, funk and samba dancing from Brazilian Fantasy, popular Brazilian music from DJ Ruivinho, and a very special Mr. Catra Tribute Set from DJ Limao.
Located in the heart of Brixton, the Prince of Wales is the ultimate destination for late night drinking and dancing. Featuring three spaces across several floors, it has what TimeOut describes as “the best outdoor terrace in London”. And for those of you who arrive early, the event will start on the terrace where you can enjoy caipirinhas under the stars, while listening to classic Brazilian sounds selected by DJ TAMI-B.
Headlining the main Club Room will be Rhythms of the City, who are one of London's leading samba drumming bands. Playing an exciting selection of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, soca and salsa, they've performed at carnivals, festivals and clubs across Europe. London favourite DJ Limao will be joining them in main Club Room, playing a special tribute set to Mr Catra who died last month at the age of 49.
Limao is one of Europe’s top Brazilian djs and has supported artists including Sergio Mendes, Gilberto Gil and Marcos Valle. He’ll be joined in the Club Room by DJ Ruivinho, who started South London Carnaval – one of the biggest Brazilian parties in the UK.
Guests will also be treated to exciting samba, funk and street dance performances from Brazilian Fantasy, who are a London-based group of world-class Brazilian dancers and musicians. They’ve performed alongside the likes of will.i.am, AKON, Tinie Tempah, Take That, Nicole Scherzinger, Barry Manilow, and Lily Allen.
Finally, in the Hotel Room, The World Service djs will be playing samba, disco and house from both Brazil and around the globe.
